Description

Muc-Off HCB-1 Harsh Conditions Barrier 400 ml

Muc-Off HCB-1 is a product designed to protect motorcycles against rust and corrosion. It forms a thin, transparent layer that protects surfaces from moisture, salt water, and harsh weather conditions. The manufacturer states that, when applied correctly, the protection remains effective for up to 12 months. This solution is particularly useful before fall and winter, when riding in the rain, as well as when the motorcycle is exposed to moisture and road salt.

Longer-lasting corrosion protection
HCB-1 leaves a thin protective layer on the surface that is resistant to high and low temperatures, as well as salt water. This helps reduce the impact of factors that contribute to corrosion on the motorcycle. The manufacturer tested the product’s effectiveness in a salt spray test in accordance with ASTM B-117 for more than 300 hours. According to information provided by Muc-Off, HCB-1 can also dissolve existing rust.

Penetrates into crevices and hard-to-reach areas
The product has strong capillary action, allowing it to penetrate small crevices and hard-to-reach corners that are difficult to access during standard maintenance. For precise application, use the applicator tube included in the kit. It helps direct the product exactly where it’s needed.

Up to 12 months of protection after a single application
HCB-1 does not need to be reapplied after every time you wash your motorcycle. The manufacturer states that the protective layer can remain active for up to 12 months and should not be washed off by rain or when washing the motorcycle during this time. Muc-Off recommends applying the product especially before the onset of cooler and wetter weather.

Where can HCB-1 be used?
The product can be used on:
metal parts of the motorcycle,
the frame,
the chain,
painted surfaces,
most hard plastic parts,
and electrical components.
However, HCB-1 is not a substitute for chain lubricant. The manufacturer does not recommend using it as a regular lubricant for the drive system.

UV dye helps verify coverage
HCB-1 contains a dye that is visible under UV light. This allows you to check whether the product has been applied evenly to the surface to be protected. A UV lamp is required for this check; it is not included in the kit and is sold separately.

How to use Muc-Off HCB-1?
Before application, thoroughly wash and dry the motorcycle. The surface must be cool and should not be exposed to direct sunlight. Shake the can well, then apply a thin, even coat of the product. Use the applicator nozzle for hard-to-reach areas.
After application, allow the product to dry completely. It may take up to 24 hours for the layer to fully cure. The manufacturer recommends not using the motorcycle during this time. Before coating a larger surface, it is recommended to test the product on a small area of the material.

Important Restrictions
Do not apply HCB-1 to:
tire treads,
brake discs,
brake system friction surfaces,
brake pistons.
The motorcycle must be completely cool before application. The manufacturer recommends waiting several hours after riding. Any excess product that has come into contact with parts not intended for protection must be removed.
